Finally after long process the Santa Cruz Council Award the construction and operation of the Marina in Flamingo to "Desarrollos de Marinas Matapalo Demm S. A", this on and extraordinary session last Saturday afternoon. The selected company have two years to complete the construction. The new marina will include space for 420 boats and 14 spaces for local fisherman's and also a Hotel and a Commercial Center. This company will invest around $91 million dollars and will pay a canon of ¢225,8 million annually to the "Muncipalidad de Santa Cruz" for operate the marina. This marina project pretends to reactivate the economy of the area and improve the income of the local people who may find a job on the new marina.
